Actualization of Russian folk motifs in contemporary art. Visual research
The trend towards reinterpretation of traditional motifs can be seen in various forms of contemporary art. The image of folk heritage is being distorted, creating the risk of the disappearance of folklore and cultural identity.
What is this - an exploration of collective memory in order to realize ourselves in a new world or a repetition of the past because of the vagueness of the future? In my visual research I seek an answer to this question.
